
Shergaon is a small and a beautiful village in the District of West Kameng of Arunachal Pradesh.It is surrounded by himalayan mountains from all the sides and has a small stream named Duflo-Kho which flows through the village.The village has a population of around 3077 according to 2011 census.Shergaon is now turning into a hot tourist destination due to its scenic beauty,cool climate,rich culture and heritage.Shergaon was awarded best Tourism village under silver category in the year 2023 by the Ministry of Tourism,Govt of India.Many point of interest in and around Shergaon village are Choskorong Waterfall, Thungeey Gompa,State Horticulture Farm and Trout Hatchery.The villagers also celebrate many festivals like Pridochhepchi,Chekor and Lossar in which unique dances like Zaam and Azulampu Dance are performed by the youth.Shergaon also boast of many rich local handicrafts like handbags,shawl and carpets in addition to local wine from various types of grains,kiwi,peach ,rhododendron flower and autumn olive.

Therefore, it is also known as ‘Kaamcho-Yaam’ which literally means mud house in Sherdukpen dialect. Each single brick is 1x1/2 meter dimensionally. The whole area covers nearly 1 hectare approximately. Apart from that, numerous imperative Rhododendron arboreum and Daphne papyraceae (Paper plant) flowers found here in the winter season which adds to beautiful scenery over there.


Shergaon is also known for rich local handicrafts.The traditional clothes like ladies top-coats called as "Kyo Rancho", mens wrap-sack called as "Bogeri" are still made with age long techniques which is well preserved and followed till date.
